Introduction
I've been writing for... well, a long time. In my own relative terms, anyway. Has any of it been any good? Maybe. But the important part is; since I decided to start a blog, I thought it was only right to include parts of my upcoming writings that fall outside the realms of non-fiction and slap-bang-in-the-middle of a story.
When I was younger, I would dream up stories and tell them through the written word and basic (read: crude) drawings. When I got slightly older, I decided to test the limits of my own abilities by engaging in performance art and telling stories of my own through visual means and a lot of flailing body movements; a venture that my 4/5 year old self would have slapped my teenage self for. I loved it, but the performing arts weren't for me, at least not then.
I began writing again, and quickly fell in love with it - it is a form of expression that I take comfort in. It comforts me. It provides happiness, relief, and just that little niggling of purpose.
Which brings us round to explaining what Storyteller's Corner is all about...
Storyteller's Corner
Rather undramatically and in an anti-climactic fashion, I must reveal that this area will provide updates (in the form of links, and whatever else I can fathom up) to my obscure literary 'career'. I have had small publication credentials before, but I am truly focusing my attention on getting somewhere with my writing, in both the on-and-offline worlds.
You can expect a slew (or rather, a trickle) of updates about where my work will next be appearing, what it will be about, why you should read it and where I'm going with it all.
For now, this page will be filled with tumbleweeds and dust... But soon enough, even in the harshest of winters, something grows.
And to cap it off, I'll give a hint of what is coming up for me;
- Self publishing my short story anthology - due for release around April
- Self publishing my debut novel - due out before the end of this year
- Joining a news team and writing/blogging about the world
- Scripting a short film that I have been working on with my partner
Let's see what the future holds!
